balsamic styles and suggestions

golosi is proud to showcase Lira H – Australia’s premier specialist vinegar manufacturer. Lira H was launched in 2003 and is one of Australia’s leading vinegar brands which have award winning premium vinegars and are appreciated by both professional chefs and amateur cooks for their quality, consistency, flavour and innovative style.

Two very popular flavours of the balsamic range are the Caramelised Lemongrass Balsamic Vinegar which is delicious when you fry shallots and sage, add a splash of balsamic vinegar then stir this fragrant mixture through mashed potato and serve with freshly cooked salmon.

A very easy Thai sauce is Lemongrass Balsamic Vinegar, Sweet Chilli sauce and fish sauce, combined together, simple and very tasty indeed.

The other new flavour we have is Caramelised Ginger Balsamic Vinegar which is fabulous in stir-fries, marinades, drizzled over fish, fresh prawns and chicken, also divine added to Asian dishes.

Some of the varieties of vinegars we showcase are Sweet Apple Vinegar, Caramelised Classic Balsamic, Sweet Spiced Merlot Vinegar, Sweet Chardonnay Vinegar and White Balsamic Vinegar just to name a few. We have a huge selection in this delicious range.

Here are six ways to use Balsamic Vinegar (other than a mouth watering salad dressing).
Instructions
  1. Dip crusty sourdough bread in extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar…just amazing.
  2. Tomato based soups and sauces are sensational with a splash of balsamic added to the dish at the very end of cooking which brings all the flavours together.
  3. Reduced to a syrup and drizzled over a scoop of vanilla ice cream, especially if strawberries are involved.
  4. Marinating meat and tofu - add some shallots and a dollop of mustard…even marinated portabella mushrooms are exquisite with this marinade.
  5. In soda and cocktails - dilute balsamic in soda water for a very grown up fizzy drink.
  6. Braising dishes or deglazing a pan...think of it like wine and add it along with the broth.
